Stressed?

I guess I thought I was superwoman and nothing really bothered me but in fact maybe it all got to me and on Thanksgiving I had a heart attack and then some real health issues that ended up having me in first my ambulance then the local ER.

They are not sure if I have a blockage or if it was the low carb high protein and fat diet I have been on for more than a month.

I am grateful I am here as I pushed the pain off on turkey day as residual from a mammogram the day before, you see I really did think besides being overweight that my numbers were good and I was healthy as an ox sadly I was not.

So please take care during these stressful times not only for our nation but for all of you in other countries where this insidious pandemic has taken a huge toll not only in the loss of life but those who are filled with worry and fear as to what is to come in this new year ahead.

Watch your BP and know the symptoms of stroke and heart attacks as many can be subtle and do real damage.

I look forward to Christmas and the New Year and all that bring me joy, for now laying low and painting more.

Take Care
Eunice

  1. Hey, Eunice. Take care of yourself and hope you get well soon and feel better. 🤗❤️ Stress can be there in your subconscious and then raises its head by affecting our health, and that is the most important thing. So I wish you all the best, stay calm and try some deep breathing exercises… I find it helps. xxx

    1. Thank you it is how I got through last weekend laying down and deep breathing I hate taking pills but for the moment hopefully I have the correct mix and they help until Tuesday.

  2. Oh no, Eunice! I’m so sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself and enjoy the painting. I hope you’ll be telling us soon that all is well. I’m sure your positive attitude will stand you in good stead. My very best wishes.

  3. I hit ‘like’ but that was for the spectacular header not the post. Wouldn’t it be interesting if we could buy something like a BP cuff and check stress. I think a lot of us would be reevaluating. Of course, I don’t need a cuff per se because I know I let things get the better of me that I should just forget about. I will be keeping you in my prayers and hoping you get a diagnosis because we all do better with facts than questions because then we can try and plan a way to feel better. Rest, relax, watch the snow fall, and enjoy hubby using the John Deere to move it this time. 🙂

    1. ❤ thank you and yes I knew about stress being a killer just never knew a pich over your breast could be a sign until I went to the hospital on the 5th day I know better now.

  4. Sorry to hear, but in a way, it’s good it was only a reminder to keep an eye on things. And, yes . . . stress be not good. Take care.

For people who are interested, BP cuffs run around “$40-$60 (the automated kind, and are pretty good and well worth the money. They also have wrists ones that are accurate enough). Again, these are automated and take no time at all to use, and do not require expertise beyond reading directions on placement. I also suggest an oxygen sensor (the kind that goes on the finger) and that’s another thing to check.

    1. For those who don’t have a calibration option (mine doesn’t), a simple remedy is to bring it along on the next visit to the doctor. Just before they take their pressure, use your cuff. BP changes even within a few minutes, but it will give you an idea if it’s close or way off.

      1. I did just that I drove over to the Fire Dept. and they were nice enough to check it out and then did their own. He said if his said what mine did I would end up going for a ride as mine was almost 40 off on top number.

  5. Oh my goodness Eunice, I am so sorry to hear about your heart attack which brings such stress, but maybe the stress from all this pandemic has caused other problems. I have been saying take it easy because you work too hard Now you must slow up and take good care of yourself. I wish you a quick recovery, and try not to worry too much. I know….easier said than done. Let hubby take care of you now.O.K. x

    1. Thank you friend I have been doing awesome even 1 1/2″ off waist but BP went sky high they are thinking a blockage. I will see doctors Mon and Tues for more answers or procedures. xo

  6. I am so sorry you went through all that my friend. You are so good to so many and I know there is much distress over what happened. The message really seems to be for you to slow down, eat a balanced diet and start thinking about yourself as the next best project. I will be thinking of you all through the holidays for sure and always hoping we will get through with the nasty virus. Don’t give up on your trip here either. Sitting on the deck with me and nothing to look at but cows and hills might help. Love and hugs,
    Dor

    1. Love you and yes a trip down to hang out with you will be just what I will need after all of this. I am eating right now I thought I was before so many things to learn about I also think a gallbladder issue is rearing its ugly head so I will focus on me and nothing that is worrisome or try like hell to just let it go. Be in touch.

    1. Thank you hope they give me good news after testing on Tuesday hate all of this waiting but with all the sick in the hospital I am not in a real hurry to go back either 😦
