I would have to say my collection of dolls and all of their clothes now that I see what they would possibly be worth, but mom had a friend a couple of miles up the road with many children and there had been an awful house fire.
Mom asked if I would think about giving them to her friend’s little girls and without another thought I knew they had to be given to those girls who were without toys. I remember going over there with all of my dolls and them being happy, it was all that mattered but I did keep my Kissing Krissy Doll and Chatty Cathy along with so many dolls from other countries.
Who knew it would be our own Barbie that would end up being a rock star for collectors.

I forgot I also gave them Skipper and suitcases of shoes and clothes.

I still try to do the right thing; it is how I was raised.

Doing right is doing good. 🙏🏼
I was too old to play with them and they were in pristine condition having had no sisters, but they had nothing so a very easy yes on my part.
Absolutely 🤗
Amazing that you saved them all, except for one of Skippers shoes! I did have most of these dolls, and Chatty Cathy. I also had a large collection of dolls from other countries from my grandparents travel. I wish I had kept them like you did. Not because they might be worth alot, but because I loved them. Be Well Eunice.
Thank you Cindy, we had the best life back then for sure. Right, I have 100+ year old dolls from England and Germany and no girls to pass them down too.
It is difficult to do it right. You are good!
Thank you xo
I’ve got some of the International Barbies. They are the ones they sold wearing the traditional dress of their country. I wish they still made them.
Now those I never saw but of course Mattel would cover all bases with their girl :)
There were several: Ghana, Scotland, China, Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Ireland, Spain, etc.
Wow what years?
I don’t even know now. Some I bought from Walmart, but other I got at garage sales and flea markets.
