Winter Wonders: Experiencing Snowy Days with a Border Collie

Oh Brady, is this how your life used to be? I hope you did not spend hours out in nasty weather. Mind you he has a warm home and food and we love him to pieces. This is very odd behavior for a border collie unless they are left outside on a sheep farm maybe.

He is also addicted to snow and he is in heaven this winter for sure. I worry about nasty stuff inside the snow and stop him every time I see him.

This last snowstorm left the area looking gorgeous. Of Course I spent 5 hours out in the cold with my inhaler close by.

I am worried about my trees. The storm coming into tonight and lasting until Tuesday is classified as a blizzard. Winds will howl. Snow-covered branches create a high likelihood of power loss. Additionally, gorgeous trees will succumb.

We have his welder/generator if we get desperate. I will have plenty of drinking water thanks to my brother. Buckets filled and placed aside for flushing, should the power be out for more than a day or two.

I am glad someone loved snow days :)

For all of you also in the area stay safe and warm.

We have seen thins many times before though lately we have been somewhat spoiled.

Good Night
Eunice

I remember doing this whole place with a snow blower well actually 2 of them. It took us 7 hours but the yard was set up so different than it is these days.

    1. All he wanted to do way lay outside he is berserk :) I quit at noon when I came in to make breakfast and let another 4 or 5 inches fall where I had removed most of the snow but I have 10″+ in the rest of the yard. I took photos just haven’t uploaded them yet but I painted like crazy all afternoon not saying they are good but it was what I needed :)

    1. OH how I know that job I quit at noon and said tomorrow is another day. Sunshine and blue skies it was a good idea :) More Wed. and Friday. I have to find out how many inches so far. We are 3 hours from the mountains there is NO need for this lol

    1. Thanks :) yes worry about potential wind damage and loss of power with our weather can be draining. Today beautiful blue skies and lots of sunshine only 22F at 7:30 this morning so coffee then housework and only then will I go plow the rest of the 10″+ that fell here and the 4″ that fell in sections once it was noon and I had had enough :) I sat inside and painted. Fed the birds and took photos ate supper and crawled in to bed for a much needed rest.

        1. For 35 years all I ever got in the rig was 4 or 5 now as I am about to turn 70 when I want to sleep in I have Blue Jays banging on the bedroom window or woodpeckers destroying my home. :) I am doomed.
