Exploring Nature: A Weekend Adventure

Sunday was so much better knowing I would not have to set the alarm for this morning. Do I sleep in? Not really. Old habits from 40 years of driving for a living are much harder to break. They are tougher than quitting smoking and drinking, LOL, for me anyway.

So Brady and I went for a walk out in the woods for a change of pace. He practically has me speed walking, when we walk at a local church property.

Trails with my border collie

He is such a good boy. I still can not believe how good he is after living the life he used to.

I am not sure what I had my settings on for these photos. I think I better check before snapping any more on the Nikon.

The land trust has done a lot of clearing behind my home. They have left lots of open spaces that they can never build on.

I remember back in 1999. I cut down a tiny Charlie Brown tree that was very crowded. I used it as my Christmas tree. The smell is heavenly.

Brady is checking out the many smells this forest holds. These smells range from humans to other dogs to everything wild in these parts.

He was tired when we headed back towards the house, that is why walks are so important for him. All that sniffing wears him out and me too.

Thanks for coming with us on this fun walk!
Maybe somewhere new tomorrow, as snow showed up after we were done.

No walk today, instead a trip to Sam’s Club for supplies for Thanksgiving dinner. I needed to pick up a case of canned dog food. I mix a 1/3 of a can on top of his good dog food for more flavor.

He loves going for rides and seeing that the breeze was so chilly a ride was a good 2nd choice. Wednesday they say we head into the 50’s with rain, so tomorrow no matter what we will get one in.

On Wednesday I am supposed to go out for lunch with a friend. We will stop in Portsmouth. She can see my art which still hangs in the gallery.

Then we will spend the holiday Thursday with my brother and his wife. They have a dog. I hope it is nice enough for us to walk off the meal.

Have a great week
Eunice
