Thousands were inside the gates at Pease Air Force Base, in Portsmouth NH and another 100,000 were outside here, there and everywhere, all looking up!
We went another town away to try and capture a few passes they did outside of Portsmouth but for those stuck on the tarmac as the skies opened, let’s just say we were happy to be in the car headed west, away from the show, when the torrential rains blew in. There was ponding on the roadway as all that heat and humidity was kicking up nasty weather overhead. We can home to not one drop of rain for hours.

My little camera hand held barely pulled it off from so far away but the sounds at least never scared Brady who came with us.

It was in the 80’s with a raging storm bearing down on us from the west. Mid Massachusetts I think took the biggest hits as far as storm damage my brothers place was hit by lightening no damage thankfully though he had to re-set his breakers on half the house. We finally received another inch of much needed rain as system 2 blew in right on top of us. Happy girl and gardens for sure. Now we are just 7 inches from what we need, to pull out of our drought.
Have a great night and enjoy your Sunday!
Eunice

Love the pictures of WWII Mustang flying together with I guess an F35 the best fighter jet today.
Thanks I was so far away so it was a struggle :)

Unfortunate timing between the storm and the airshow. I esp. like the next to last photo with the dark clouds, plane and a bit of tree top, good drama!
It was quite the fast-moving storm here with some big rumbles and strikes to send the dog scurrying for the closet, poor thing. 1/2″ rain and moderate wind, we lucked out. As you wrote, mid-state got the worst of the wind.
Yes we had the nasty sounding mess for 40 minutes but no damage thankfully so many people soaked at the show. I saw the clouds building and added Brady into the back seat and told Ron we were going to beat feet home. We ran right into that mess but better than a traffic jam of 100,000 angry people made because the free air show could not pull off everything with the reduced visibility.
All those years on the road have made you wise to see the signs.
Boy do I look skyward :) but to run smack into it lol in my tiny Yaris but it was coming east and I live west though I could have dove north then west I must have really wanted this rain as people were driving crazy unable to see or care who was beside or in front of them. I could not believe I ran out of it a town away and not a drop here but I held out hope for a 1/4 of an inch :)
We were lucky, no thunder and lightning, just a gentle rain.
First round nasty then all night and all morning today gentle earth quenching rains.
Our lights went in and out at one point, but we didn’t lose power, thank goodness!
So happy my brother’s place in Londonderry got hit he looked for smoke and fire then went back to getting everything back up and running.
A good decision to make a prompt exit. I hope that the other seven inches of rain that you need come in a less violent fashion.
Thank you me too :) Lot of rain out in Scotland I saw on radar. My flowers are totally rejuvenated and a week of the mid 70’s will be nice.
Brady might have been scared, but he sure is gorgeous.
Hope you get more rain!
Thanks we are done with rain for yet another week but with cooler temps it will be much better. He could jump in and out of the car for safety <3
