How will you finish off your final days of August?
I have so much to do in the yard, never mind the house and the barn but after such an amazing summer here in NH, where temperatures were consistently in the high 80’s to high 90’s F I am so tired.
I hate AC but with our age and a black dog who hates heat and prefers these early cool mornings, leading up to our ice and snow period, to arrive before we know it, but for me I would love to get a steady gentle rain for 3 days to replenish the earth and wells.

Trying to keep the planters full of pretty flowers and water has been a part time job with no rainfall.
I began a landscape painting last night, of course with a tree or two, lol still a work in progress, but I felt the urge to paint as the day was winding down and I had to prepare supper.

I had a concept after the foreground tree was laid down, then it started to go sideways on me, as I never plan anything lol you know go with the flow with my watercolors. lol I will work on it in between doing all that needs to get done around here.
I have 2 shows to hang coming up and want to add some pieces I created this past year and pop out the older pieces in frames and place them in a basket for attendees to purchase at a lower cost, as the frames add a lot to each piece. Like the one I painted below, I will frame this one.

It is hard for me to decide upon 20 to 30 paintings, thankfully I have been prolific, now I didn’t say a master but I do paint as often as I can mostly to just chill from all the stress we are under and with our health for these past 5 years and moms before that.
I buy a lot of paper, maybe it is time to invest in a roll and cut my own pieces for each frame I have. I love a mix of tiny 5×7’s and 16×20 but then the sky is the limit right? :)
Gardening in a drought is lousy when water supplies are being literally wasted on peoples lawns, as we all draw from the same aquafer for our water needs and with so much building happening in my area never mind my town alone. I swear the planning board and permitting people need to get it together and understand water is a precious commodity. It is why I have not paved my paradise, so when any rain fall occurs, that it can percolate down into the earth and replenish life. My turtles love me for that.

Life is never dull here at our place but I take too many photos, and choose very few to share on Facebook and Instagram, never mind WordPress so this is just a sample of life here in Aug. 2025

As much fun as I have tried to have in August I am looking forward to 70 and 80 degree days with 40’s and 50’s at night I know Brady is for sure.
Ron starts PT on his shoulder during the 1st week of September and I will try to work and extra day here and there if they need me and on days off
cut back plants after a good soaking rain lol if we get one and I guess I will get Brady groomed as he hates baths all I do is brush and brush and pick up fur. While he is away with a local lady I will use my time to tackle the barn and get things ready to sell.
Anyone looking to create glass beads I have a torch, glass, and a concentrator. :) Selling it as a package! I also have glass grinders and maybe a small kiln once I swing the doors open on the barn again I will see what I can let go.
For now the flowers need me and the yellow finches who have begun to pull them apart :)

Enjoy your last days of this month!
In the US we will celebrate Labor Day next Monday and I will have the day off to do the same.
Stay safe
Eunice
PS I have been taught how to pinstripe, now time to paint on metal things too! :)

Lovely images, of all sorts!
Thanks so much.
‘ I take too many photos’ ?? That’s a concept I do not understand! These are beautiful.
lol thank you Ha Ha
It’s lovely to get an update from you Eunice. My end of August will hopefully be wet! They have forecast rain for tomorrow when I get back to Bavaria from my UK trip. So my garden will hopefully recover a bit from the stress of the heat and drought. Wishing for an Indian summer but with rainshowers every night! LOL! Love your paintings. 🩷 Take care and wishing you rain too.
Thank you friend <3 Hope you had a nice visit and get all the rain you need if we receive none tomorrow we will go another week without any.
The month has flown by, and the chore list never gets shorter, ha! Enjoy the weekend, hope it isn’t all work!
I will head to breakfast for a few hours in the morning while I wait to see if we get rain when it arrives I will head to the barn and unpack my art and new frames and see if I can put a show together :) I want to do a yard sale at some point or put free stuff at the top of my dirt road and watch it disappear :)
A very busy month for you! You’ll keep us posted on your upcoming exhibit?
Sure and thank you it is the whole month of October at the Epping library and I think a reception with me painting live will be the 1st or 2nd I will find out.
Thanks!
I hope that your shows go well. I always enjoy what you show us of your paintings here.
I feel for your water problems. It is most frustrating when the people with responsibility for others either by their office or their actions refuse to see a problem that is staring them in the face.
Thanks so much. You just summed up America in that one sentence <3
I enjoy these last days of summer. Similarly to you, I cram lots of activities into August. Winter will be here before I know it.
Yes and we will pay for the heat we now have for free :)
I have fired many guns and I’m comfortable around them. I used to own a 12gauge shotgun for clay pigeon shooting. Its almost impossible to own any sort of side arm in the UK. Perhaps if we could carry, it would stop the problems for our women and children we are having with illegals in our country. A point to remember; a gun has never killed anybody, the person pulling the trigger is responsible for the killing.
car season is all but finished in the UK now, perhaps 1 or 2 left for me.
Enjoy the shows! So many woman here in the states now carry and NH can now conceal without permits. I loved shooting clay pigeons 1st as I learned with a 12ga then my ex bought me a gorgeous Italian 20ga over and under it gets the clays to come down in dust :) Only once did I ever shoot a 12 ga side by side yikes I was to skinny and dumb then :)
The states all around us Maine, VT and MA are loaded with illegals we taxpayers foot the bill for I do not like the old Trump but now with his team I feel safer as things are being put right finally NO FREE RIDES for anyone if they allow him to fix things instead of tying his hands. We have semi truck drivers in flip flops who can’t read the signs, can’t speak English who are now being pulled out of the trucks and sent home Biden’s crew brought them all here :( I hate politics but hate stupidity more.
