Daily writing prompt
Tell us about a time when you felt out of place.

As a female trucker you would think it would have been back then but no it was when I walked into a local art gallery and asked if I could join.

I was new to painting, with watercolors no less, and terrified of not being accepted. Well, many did but the few that had a different opinion of me learned I actually hung some items that sold very fast but mostly I added a NFS (Not for Sale) so I just paid $10 to enter and did not have to give them 40% of work they thought was not good enough. I am a businesswoman after all. lol

    1. Thanks not even remotely the case but I have so much fun playing. :) Not every piece of art is my thing but that someone took the time to create it in my eyes is worth their effort no one is better than the next person. xo hoping you are loving life out there in the holler.

  1. Beautiful story of strength and self-assurance in a situation that many would not begin to entertain.

And your painting is GORGEOUS! I say this after a few hours sifting through trays and trays of bits of paper of various colors, collected over the years to be used for decoupage projects… finally unpacked once more. It’s the kind of tedium that only a few of us can really enjoy 🤣 But I’m surprised that my eyes have ANY sense – color or otherwise right now!

But your art really struck me —that is a beautiful piece that you painted ❤️

    1. Thank you so much Kelly I find so much comfort in a wet piece of paper and letting something appear from nowhere. I have so much I can tear up or rinse off and begin again for sure. I guess I am scared inside but with a tough exterior lol

      1. Some of the best things are made with EXACTLY that design… soft insides, crunchier shell

chocolate covered cherries (or caramels – my fav!)
        a proper French baguette
        turtles
        eggs
popcorn — have to add some heat for that one to show up! (a bit of a stretch but neat extension of the analogy)
