Daily writing prompt
What details of your life could you pay more attention to?
In New England area which is all I can speak from what I have experienced personally and have heard we really need to advocate for ourselves when it comes to health and our healthcare providers. Our now 8- week ordeal has made it quite clear the medical field is in a world of hurt.
Eat right, exercise and get proper sleep to offset the lack of care you will receive if and when it is critical for you to seek help.
Speak up!

Yes, the last place you want to be is in a doctor’s office, that is if you can get an appt with one (we’re often shuttled off to a nurse). ‘Eat well, exercise, quit sugar (and processed food)’ is our mantra.
The high cost of education has got in the way of many good people that would have entered the field of medicine and now we are paying the price… right when all the Boomers are in need of health care… a tragedy.
A nightmare to be caught up in we sadly just found out and throw covid into the mix and these places are hurting bad. Lack of help first of all and then 20+ year olds on social media and not caring for their patient’s good thing I know how to deal with life lol
So true Eunice! My doctor retired, and trying to find a new primary has been a nightmare!
Just fired mine after 20 years for a new female who signed a 2 yr contract with the same group. She knows I am not afraid to find one who tells us what we need to know and not what we want to hear :) Good luck. If you have Medicare ask them to help you find a good one.
Never thought of that, thanks!
Thank you for this important reminder. I needed it!
Speak up and demand care is my new motto neighbor.
A good motto to have.
An article I today’s paper (not sure which) documented health care in red states vs blue. I’m from NE, live in the Deep South and can honestly say for the most part you have it good.
Yikes I am so sorry if I think it is off the rails here ( I think we were red then blue then red not sure where it lies now as I have always been neither) Stay safe :)

Oh so true Eunice. Great advice. !! We have a good medical service here in Crete where the elderly are especially looked after. We see the doctor every month where he checks we are ok and we receive our medication, Then every 6 months we have all tests done such as Heart, Lungs etc., and I get tested for Osteoporosis where I have an injection every 6 months. Our doctor insists we exercise as much as possible and drink plenty of water. I will be 90yrs of age this month 10th
xo you are blessed in so many ways Rita. Keep listening to them HUGS from over here.
I will !! and Hugs to you also xx
xo
Sound advice even when you have a good health service. There are insane politicians here who think that we should have a health service more like yours.
Tell them NO WAY!!!!!
