It was a very busy holiday weekend

Down along the river are many native as well as invasive species. I’m hoping the natives plants choke out the invasive. LOL wait this sounds like the story here in the United States right? LOL Damn I must re-group!

Goldfinch must have been eyeing my raised beds full of assorted annuals.
They know when they are ready to eat, just like shoppers perusing a produce counter.

I a short clip of one of my Ruby Throated hummingbirds in flight. She was among the Black and Blue Salvias and Vermillionair cuphea. I grow for them and the bumble bees. The girls and the young that they are raising in my yard right now are feeding like crazy, as they prepare for their long trip south.

They will spend the winter in tropical locations and return to this yard, that they were born at, God willing that is with weather like it is. We will miss them until early next May.

We took the day off from cars this past Saturday and he went around the corner to hang out with his friends in the RC club where they were having fun flying and telling stories over good food.

I have gone. But, Brady and I headed out to the barn to photograph a bunch of stuff. I will sell this on Marketplace (Facebook). We also pulled artwork out to hang at the upcoming shows I told you about.

He had been so miserable with his shoulder and now his feet he wasn’t doing too much so it was nice to see after he came home from the flying field he was in a much better place <3

We attended two car shows. One was in Massachusetts, and the other was in NH. Both shows took place on Sunday and Monday, which is a holiday here in the states. Labor Day. Both were for charities.

The flag is at half mast due to yet another shooting, this one in a Catholic School where children were shot by a guy with a ton of issues, which I will not give you my opinion of except to say I have owned guns since 1979 and have always been responsible with them.

The cars and trucks that showed up, boy there were there a lot of them. In fact Sundays crowd had just about 400 of them and Monday’s event I would say between 250-300 though maybe more, we had Brady with us so we left after 4 hours, as all 3 of us were tired. Brady was plain tuckered out.

Well, I have a 5 or 6 hour day transporting people to their appointments today. I told dispatch I could do some work on both Wed. and Thurs. morning since I had Monday off. Thursday night I learn how to form metal
where I learned how to lay out flames and pinstripe.

Have a great week everyone!

  1. Lots of fun activities. A great video capturing hummingbirds inflight feeding from flowers. I love seeing them and especially this time. They are busy getting some energy for a long trip and more of them to see than during mid summer.

The RC plane got my soft spot :) I used to fly them too. I am wonder can he fly in that tight space?

    1. Exactly xo I plant here for them and I am here to say even with all their sugar water and so many flowers the antics were happening daily no one died but lots were buzzed!

I love that you loved RC no he can not but he was working on batteries, flaps, etc making sure it is ready for the next morning they gather :) He still only has one shoulder to use as well so he must go easy. He has hundreds of planes he got for free fixed them when his buddies crashed them now they are his :)

      1. Wonderful. I would love to go back flying RC planes again. Just to say it, I flew RC planes, helicopters and even race RC boats (a long long long time back). Love them all. Cheer!

    1. OH my art show will be hung up at the end of Sept in Epping library but October 1st a Wednesday I will be up stairs from 5:30-7:00 pm with light refreshments and I will show how to use watercolors for those wanting to see how easy it is ;)

  2. Love the video of your hummingbird! I love watching our housemartins swooping over our yard and eating all the mosquitoes (I hope!) and often wonder how such tiny creatures manage to fly so far. Mine will be off within a week or so. Your weekend sounded busy but fun. 😃

    1. I just love to sit and watch how methodical they are not missing a drop :) Yes me too the insect world is amazing. So busy then work yesterday and 8+ hours today I am beat :) I will sleep like a baby tonight.

Love to hear from you
