No, I think that is his tongue!
OK I blew it up so I could see it real close, and it looks like lower bill, but I will keep an eye on him as he hoards the feeder beside me daily when I can sit outside.
Difficult to say Eunice It could be as Eliza say’s his tongue. But I am not sure.
I have a twin to him/her in Southern NJ.
