It has been so crazy cold here.Β I am so sick of listening to the furnace and space heater run but grateful I have them and a roof over my head.
Since our last 10″ storm the cold set in, record breaking cold I need my January Thaw but nope we are going to be under a blizzard warning tomorrow and through the weekend. They say we may see 4″ to 20″ hello after 8 it is horrid unless you ski or snowboard which I can assure you I don’t π
Today it will be in the 20’s F and will feel like spring this better not be my thaw but I will use it to buy more bird food and suet, dog and cat food and I will make a cabbage/veggie packed soup I can heat by lighting a match on my kitchen stove as power outages are always likely here even though it is 2018.Β All those beautiful and frozen trees just will not withstand the 40+ mph wind and wires will come down.Β Stay safe as as there will be ice from the deep south all the way to Canada.
When I am not shoveling and snow blowing it away I will paint. I will sit in the quiet and let my creator guide my heart and hand and see what shows up on my wet piece of paper.Β This is what my place looks like now before this coming storm and what I did to rest my aching back.Β I am so happy to have Watercolor in my life.Β I am in 2 new shows
though I will not sell mine, they will just be for show as I grow.
Stay safe everyone.
We did our birdseed and human food run yesterday and we hope to sit out the storm in a in a warm house. Hereβs hoping that both of us have power by the end of the day! Stay safe and happy paintingβ¦
God stay safe! I know right if I keep no food in the house we should keep our power π How close are you to the coast I am 15 miles hoping for 3″ π ya right
We are about 7 miles from the ocean. We have logs for the fireplace if needed. If we lose power, I always have peanut butter and jelly on hand. π
We have tuna, peanut butter baked ham and water and enough coal to light the stove if electric goes out and then we can go to Walmart 3 miles down the road where they all never lose the grid π
you 7 miles us 15 let’s hopes 4-8 and 25 mph winds and not what is being hyped π
Stay safe it will be ridiculously cold till Monday than 25-35 for a week finally back to our new normal π
Happy New Year, Eunice. I just wanted to let you know that I’m still following you and enjoying your posts and artwork. We’ve moved from Italy – terrible traumatic move – and are now living in Scotland where we’ve had plenty of snow and today gale-force winds. We’re living in one room while we try to install under floor heating, but at least with an electric oil heater we can be cosy. Our 3 dogs are with us. Keep up the good work and all my best wishes to you. Damaris
Wow do I still have your email I will try to PM you on FB I never get update from many π¦ HUGS
OMG ! Eunice I was hoping you were going to be free of that awful snow for a while at least. It’s bitterly cold here also and snow on the mountains, but at least we don’t have to shovel it from the roads YET ! Stay warm cosy and safe.and I hope the warmer weather reaches you very soon..
π You too it will be spring her in March π
And a happy and warmer new year to you)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Oh my Eunice, take care with the storm – its potential has been blasted all over the news for the past 24 hours. Stay safe and lets hope they called this one wrong. Congratulations on your art and the two shows – love how everything is progressing for you.
Thanks Mary I am hoping it is thrown for a loops and it heads out to sea oops sorry for those on the other side of the Atlantic π
Happy New Year!
It is cold everywhere this Jan. The forecast says it is going to snow here. I hope the accumulation is not too high.. Please stay warm.
you too HUGS
Enjoy the time to paint. We are supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow or more with strong winds. I work at a school and it hasn’t been cancelled so coming home might be a challenge. I saw ,any schools down south have already cancelled. We are having a hard time keeping up with the heat too, as our kerosene monitor froze twice and the stove just can’t keep up. Oh well. We are tough and will make it under thick blankets with a hot cup of coffee. Blessings to you.π
All of ours are closed what a long vacation it has been but many now without heat not enough people want to drive truck to deliver oil and propane π¦ OH yes we have seen it all stay safe and as warm as you can it will be NUTS Saturday with COLD π¦ next week better.
Yes, it’s a crazy time of snow and wind and cold temps. I don’t look forward to this weekend but plan to stay warm inside and read and write.π
I adore your paintings! Your talent abounds here!
Awe thanks Resa
