Well it is a Big Football day here in America. My team is not in it so I will listen to the music watch the half time show and raise my eyes to catch the commercials they paid so much for. Eat and drink, no not so much, not like the old days when it was a party to throw that kept me busy. Today I am beading. Feet up working with Size 8 beads in the colors Purple as it is my friends favorite color hope she likes how it will look on her wrist. I am worried about her. She is going to be 68 on the day my son was born and she has been having lots lot heart issues. So I hope my small token of friendship brings a smile to her face. She is ten years older than me and I have known her since the 90’s when a man from my neighborhood started dating her out in OH. So she moved here and we had some fun times together. She now lives in GA and since I do not see me getting there anytime soon this gift will be a surprise of sorts. See when we lived close to each other we would do things together on our birthdays, without men just us girls. Mine is two weeks after hers so it was a never ending party. We would go out for Prime Rib dinner and dance the night away. So thinking of her and my love of Kumihimo I am almost done. Want to see?
Size 8’s
Three different colors I mixed together randomly into a “Soup Mix”
A piece of the finished braid.
Do you think these colors look good together?
I really hope she feels the love as she wears it. I don’t have a lot of money but beads I have and a skillset to make something handmade and they say those are truly the most thoughtful gifts right?
Have a wonderful day!
Reblogged this on 20 Lines A Day.
The colors of those beads together are gorgeous Eunice. I’m sure your friend is going to like them. Has all the snow melted away now ? I do hope so.
Thanks Rita. Now still snow and ice here and another 12+ inches starting to arrive Tuesday and run through Wednesday 🙂
You are so very talented Eunice!
no learn something and then play very easy to do I could give you a lesson in an email and YouTube 🙂
I do like those colours together too Eunice. That is such a thoughtful gift – wish I was as creative as you are. Take care in all that nasty weather coming your way!
Thanks so much it really is so easy to make the braid hard part is deciding on how best to finish it off this one will have a magnet closure like the one I did for my Mom only in Silver. I will take a photo just before I wrap it for the mail. It is a peaceful craft one I can do with feet up and not a care in the world 🙂 I can give lessons 🙂
I like the colours – very pretty! 🙂
Thanks for stopping and letting me know I am trying to learn to be less BOLD in my choices 🙂
🙂 I am trying to be the other way and be MORE bold…
🙂 I am BOLD when it is for me now but to sell not so much or maybe I am not hanging out with the right crowd 🙂
Yes, color combo delightful, formed from love beads for a dear friend, priceless…
Thanks so much I was praying it looked pretty together for her I want her to feel the love around her wrist 🙂 Thanks!
Lovely memories and a beautiful thoughtful gift….. Diane
Thanks so much for stopping by I hope she likes it 🙂 and that it cheers her up 🙂
Hi Eunice, so sorry to hear you have more snow to come. It doesn’t get any easier even if you are used to coping with it does it. Where my family are in England the weather forecast is snow and blizzards for them also. The weather is a general topic at this time of year everywhere I think. Its been bucketing down with rain here for the past two days and snow on the mountains (It can stay there). Anyway take care especially if you have to go out. (I know you will)
Thanks Rita you know I will I hate pain 🙂
Weather is crazy which is why we discuss it so much or maybe it is my age lol I bet the young never worry their silly heads about it 🙂
Now they are saying 7 to 14″ NYC will be hammered with over 20 which will cripple the city. What I like about the snow is we will have no chance of real drought and many green trees and gorgeous flowers. I just hate moving it We are to old I wish the man I had paid to repair my truck had done so and not just run off with the money. Life is good with a plow and lawn mower lol I can give up the phone but not those two. We will be better prepared next winter with a ton or two of coal, chains for his old truck with my plow blade or a tropical island to run away from it all . It is beautiful when it snows and JT got a new Orange ball from her Daddy yesterday so there will be photos to be taken of her fun. I also love how it insulates the house too it gets so quiet here so still and beautiful very peaceful once we rest and stop breathing so hard 🙂 I will try to shoot a video this storm and see if I can add a quick clip of our world. Thanks for thinking about us and I hope your family fairs well I heard it was nuts in that area too. Storms, flooding and our West and Southwest are bone dry 😦
A nice gift and tradition, Eunice. I am sure it will be loved. –Curt
Thanks Curt I hope she loves it 🙂
What a lovely color palette! She’s going to love it! She must just love what a good friend she has. 🙂 (I fell asleep during the Super Bowl) 😎
That game sucked wish I could have 🙂
She loves Purple so I am hoping she likes it which reminds me after all the shoveling is done on the roof I must put the ends on and ship it right out 🙂 birthdays do not wait on ME 🙂
Really beautiful colours, Eunice! I bet she’s thrilled 🙂
Thanks I must get it completed this weekend and into the mail 🙂
Beautiful!
Thanks!
I am sure your friend will love this one! You have inspired me to do something with bits and pieces of old beads but mine will be simple. Thanks for the recent visit to my blog. I am a bit behind in reading blogs.
Thanks It actually somehow arrived on her birthday and I sent out in snow and she had ice in Atlanta when it arrived and she loved it 🙂 I hope I get to see what you make. 🙂
Beautiful colors!
Thanks I was worried she would not like them 🙂
