HI
My name is Eunice and I live in southern New Hampshire.
I am in a Master Beading Program where I am still an apprentice after 1 year. So much to learn. I have been learning how to do Peyote, Spiral and Herringbone stitches, which I use in earrings, necklaces and bracelets. I also make eyeglass lanyard using a technique known as Kumihimo . This is an ancient Japanese beading technique done with cord and your choice of beads.(I will be adding photos of projects I have finished to give you an idea of where I am at with designing)
I also love melting(fusing)glass in my kiln. I use fuse-able glass as well as Dicrohic Glass. I also own a torch and love taking a glass rod and mandrel heating them in a flame and watching the glass wrap around the mandrel and forming my own glass bead. I can decorate it with the use of stringers and frit. Stringers are very thin rods of glass and Frit is crushed glass I can roll a hot piece of glass in to pick up different colors as well as texture. I love my time in the barn where I do this work.
I am also in love with photographing life around me. I always have been but have just started sharing with others.
OK now for a real surprise for those who do not know me. I am an injured Tractor Trailer Driver/Owner. I have been driving big rigs since the late 70’s when it was really unheard of to see a young female behind the wheel of a Big Rig. I have traveled across this country of ours and have so many fond memories of life on the road as well as years I spent hauling goods, all over New England. I was hurt in an auto accident in 2000 which has since taken the ability to drive a rig for 15 hours

a day so I had to find something to keep myself busy and happy, as I was a complete mess after being told my trucking days were over. It was who I was, now what? So I went back to my roots. I always loved crafting and art in all forms. So as I learn this BLOGGING I hope to show you what I love through my photos and words. Feel free to comment or follow me as I really do want to get better at all I attempt to do.
Thanks again
Eunice
Hi Eunice! Thanks for visiting and following my blog. Your bead work is lovely! And that’s so cool that you were a truckie!!
Thank you! Yes I miss my rig and beads and sea glass and our Border collie and all the rest have taken me from a very sad place to one where I am forever grateful for the life I have divine intervention is what it was I think lol or I would not be here. HUGS to you
Hi Eunice! Nice to ‘meet’ you! 🙂 My husband (separated now) drove a big rig for a little over a year, and I rode with him. That was quite a life! He hated it with a passion. I didn’t mind it…did his routes for him and kept track of things, etc. My health did decline during that time though, and between that and subsequent situations we went through I’m still recovering from all of that.
Ha ha…we always noticed that anytime we got to around Gary, Indiana, going into Chicago, the radio suddenly was bombarded with people mad at each other and cussing each other out, threatening…etc. 🙂 It was interesting. Chicago was one of our least favorite places to go. That and Philadelphia. One of the funniest loads we had was a load of corn out of Philly that we took to Iowa. Ha ha! We thought that seemed a little backwards. 🙂
Blessings! –Anne
Too Funny my EX hated TRUCKIN and I LOVED IT!!!
I was as healthy as could be while in my rig it was only after sitting at a red light, in my own van(new)that being hit by a fully loaded
tour bus weighing 20,000 lbs. rear ended me did I start my decline. Loss of that income alone would send some one off the deep end lol never mind injuries and pain 🙂
I HATED CHICAGO TOO never could understand all the garbage on the CB, were they speaking English? I shut it off when there. 🙂
Corn out of Philly now I never did that lol Beef out of Iowa to EVERYWHERE yes.
I had a load going out in eastern Washington State and it was late at night ex in the bunk and I was following a open trailer hauling corn on the cob, we were flying across this type of floating bridge or I felt like it floated as water was lapping the sides of it, well when we parted ways and morning light came I saw what appeared to be Creamed Corn all over the front of my beautiful cab over, needless to say I had some EXPLAINING to do, hehe awe the stories of the Road!
Ha ha ha! We were just on the east coast. Furthest west we went was eastern Texas, and of course Iowa. We frequently got sent into upstate NY to a salt factory and then to haul that into Wisconsin to cheese factories…then rap runs back down into Chicago was usually the routine. But we were all up and down and across the eastern half of the U.S. Massachusetts once, and New Hampshire once, Rhode Island a few times. Hated Rhode Island too…but we hated all the toll roads in those parts. 🙂
Are you still blogging? I am now folsommillstudio.com
Salt from NY to WI sounds very familiar I also hauled loads of Cheese from Kraft HUGE Barrels man I love cheese lol I did not always hook up to a refer though 🙂
Yes toll roads are nasty!
Eunice
Hi Eunice, thanks for stopping by my blog and liking one of the posts :). Have a lovely friday
Thank you for checking mine out as well 🙂
Eunice…I ran into a similar problem with physical problems preventing me from continuing to work and so, I retired. And now I am doing what I have always wanted to do, but never had the time—doing nature and landscape photography. I even started up my own store on line. I have looked at your beadwork photos, and they look just awesome! I’m sure that it takes a lot of time and devotion. I wish you the best of success in your endeavor! As a truckdriver, I can imagine all the beautiful landscapes you saw as you crossed the country. You were very blessed in that respect. I started taking cross country train trips to see this wonderful country of ours and I love it. It’s one way to truly see all the beautiful landscape that this country has to offer. God bless!
Thanks Peggy!
Yes my trucking trips all over this country and Canada were filled with so many beautiful
spots and the people and animals as well.
I loved the road just the ex really did not know how to love someone without causing pain I was young
and so needed to be loved long story probably 3 books worth lol.
I am learning to relax and love beading but it is not trucking 😦 I garden here and take photos of my plants and always have my camera with me.
We gold prospect some and metal detect when we are up to it.
We have a border collie and she keeps us entertained 🙂
I have a son in Jackson Hole another long story but he is an artist and a skier of course 🙂
Thanks again for your lovely note
Eunice
Hi Eunice, I wanted to thank you for visiting my blog. I admire your courage to reinvent your life by revisiting your love for crafting! ~Patricia
Hi
It was not an easy thing to accept but after too many tears I accepted being poor(it humbled me)
I went to few classes and actually had fun after stressing out 🙂
I do love my life and am grateful to be here.
I have a brother in Deerfield BCH FL who has done design type work as well as painting and so many other things.
I have a son in JH WY who is a skier/painter
My Mom was a Cake artist before they were the Rage and Dad he was so many things but mostly a truck driver and car racer like me 🙂
Loved your blog as I am always looking for inspiration for color to add to my pieces of jewelry unless it is sea glass which goes nice all by it’s self 🙂
Thanks again
Eunice
Hi Eunice! Thanks for visiting my blog! Good luck with your beading program – I used to do beadwork before my daughter was born. It’s very cool that you used to drive a rig…you must have a ton of stories to tell!
Thanks for checking out mine too!
You know I have LOTS of stories just not sure I can tell them here lol
Eunice
Eunice: On a daily basis, I see people who think their lives are meaningless after losing their jobs (esp after this economic crisis). Very few get on track again to growing and finding something else they like to do. Congrats for that and for moving forward – what a gift!
Thank You.
I am not saying there were not many tears shed but I had to quit missing what I loved and get on with living or It would have been a HUGE Disappointment for why I made it through that wreck. I was not broken (bones) I was strong and healthy and not a quiter but man there were moments 😦 I am poor but on the other hand so wealthy 🙂
Hi. I am just getting started building my wordpress site. To see all the examples of my work go to http://www.fernsandfancy.com

Hi Eunice! Thanks for liking my photography post “Weekly Photo Challenge:Create”. Nice to read that you work with beads. I’m into jewelry design and making (wire work, lost-wax casting, soldering, etc), but I have never tried bead work, though I’ve been thinking about it, so I will try it some day.
Kind greetings,
Marianne

Hi Eunice
Great blog – I read a book (I read lots of books) called The Present bu a guy called Spencer who also wrote (amongst others) “who moved my cheese”. All about how we should live our lives in the present rather than in the past of future. It seems you have done just that At many times in our lives there are things that may not be to our liking but there are many things that are great and those are the things on which we should focus. Like the sunrise, the flowers in the garden, the laughter of my grandchildren, antics of my dogs and the fact that God loves us.
May your find Joy and contentment will your new venture.
Thank You for your kind words. They mean a lot. I thought God had stoppe loving me 35 years ago but now I know that is not so. Been some horrible times in those 35 years but I am the person now because of it I am sure.
Hi Eunice, nice to meet you and thanks for subscribing to my blog.

H Eunice,
Thanks so much for stopping by and liking my blog 🙂 Dad wanted me to be a truckie, such adventures he thought!
Thanks for reading mine lol Your Dad was RIGHT oh the stories I could tell lol
Hello Eunice
Thank you for liking my ‘almond’ blog post and for following my blog. It’s lovely to hear from you. I’ve just had a thorough browse around your beautiful work. You must be extremely dexterous to handle all those little beads. I think my very favourites are the sea glass pieces.
I’m following you, too!
Awe thanks! Tiny indeed good glasses needed mostly lol Sea Glass is my love as the beach is where I walk and collect treasure mostly 🙂 Thanks for the follow
We’re all works in progress. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Feels good to spread the love in this crazy blogging world. Think it takes longer to mentally get used to an injury than physically. Body always seems to find a way, mind is kinda a couple steps behind least that’s how it feels to me.
I spent my day letting my mind rule this injured body she just doesn’t get it! 🙂 I painted another section of the house. I hurt so bad and yoga tomorrow should help but I do not see it at this moment. 😦 I push this wrecked body each day so I know what you mean. 🙂
Eunice,
I got chemical lung damage from a previous occupation and severe asthma, both of which now require a small pharmacy of meds to control.
It’s sucks, but well, not breathing isn’t exactly a better option is it ? 🙂
In the end you have to accept that the former part of your life is gone but you are lucky to have at had it whilst it lasted… now life gives you other stuff and it’s up to you to make the most of it.
Know that there wil be good days and bad days… but that there is always someone out there somewhere who is in a far worse position and would happily trade you even your very worst day for theirs. If you saw theirs, it puts things into perspective.
Concentrate on the positive… it makes the long term pain easier (along with strong painkillers and icepacks LOL). I’m also recovering from an accident what’s left me on crutches for a year and a half… progress is slow but at least there IS progress.
One day at the time hey?!!! Happy Blogging!!!!
I am sorry you suffer as well
I wake each day blessed that I am here I made it thrrough when I thought I would never see the next day.
One day at a time is what gets us through
and lovely bloggers
xo
Eunice
Hi Eunice. Thanks for checking out my blog and liking one of the posts. My late husband was a long-haul truck driver for about a year – hauled produce coast to coast, and was based out of Springfield, MO. Nice looking blog. 🙂
Thanks!
And you are very welcome
Sorry for your loss
Produce from Calf. to Boston I only took those loads to come see my family
🙂
Our son was a long-distance truck driver for years. And Ed http://edprescott.wordpress.com/2012/08/28/nightshade/ From Thoughts on the Road is also a long-distance trucker. Many people blame the trucker for the wrecks, but more often than not it’s that crazy car (driver) that cut in front of the truck. Which caused the wreck.
Thanks for finding my blog!
http://edprescott.wordpress.com/2012/08/28/nightshade/
Oh the things truckers so on a daily basis and police can not be everywhere I have been in North Dakota where an officer said there were just two watching the interstate 1 every what 300+ miles 😦
I have seen so many horrible wrecks
A asian driver was on the phone of his casino bus rear-ended me while I sat in a new van at a Red light with left directional he had 3 lanes but he chose me.
I cried for years as I miss really miss trucking but I am now strong again (mind) and working on the body following suit lol
Thanks!
You are so creative. I wish you the best in your craft. 🙂
Thanks so much! Mostly for my sanity 🙂
That’s a great way to keep sane. 🙂 And accomplished. 🙂
Hi Eunice! Thank you for visiting my blog and following it too! 😀 I admire your courage to change a negative situation into a positive one. I think it’s easy to mope around when accidents happen, but you found something to turn it all around! I really like your photographs, keep up the good work and keep smiling! 🙂
Thank you Jane so much for your kind words. I started out slow just to learn to share photos but it seems. I share so much of who I am and I had forgotton at times the person who lives within me during all the pain. Life is so much better today than even 5 years ago. Thanks again I really do appreciate it
Eunice
